The Comparator Mode inspection process begins by defining a Golden Board. This is accomplished by
scanning a known good (golden) board, identifying alignment points, inspection views and giving this
inspection routine a logical name.
NOTE: Because the system retains the image of the scanned “Golden” reference board, there is no need to
keep a physical board for this purpose. In this way PCB assets are release and storage resources are freed up.
1. Double-click on the <Comparator Mode> Desktop Icon

2. The Comparator Mode will load a Navigation Screen. This screen displays navigation buttons along
the top-left side of the screen. Press the <Login> button and enter <focalspot> (default password) in
the Login Dialog Box. Click <OK> to continue. Password protection prevents unintentional or
unauthorized alterations to the board setups.
